New Malva is a homestyling startup founded by two South African life coaches with a passion for creating spaces that feel like home. Specializing in helping clients refresh and personalize their interiors when moving into a new home, New Malva transforms houses into inviting, comfortable, and beautifully curated living spaces. I worked with New Malva to develop their brand identity, and designed pamphlets to shared be at realtor offices.

BRAND DEFINITION
What's in a Name?
When I met with the founders, the company had yet to be named. I interviewed the founders in order to clearly define the business mission and service offerings. From there, we crafted the brand.
The name "New Malva" is inspired by malva pudding, a beloved South African dessert synonymous with tradition, home-cooking, and comfort. By adding "New," we created a name that reflects their mission: blending the warmth and nostalgia of home with a fresh, modern approach to interior styling.

MOODBOARDS
Home Comforts, Re-invented
To reflect New Malva’s mission of easing the stress and anxiety of moving, the moodboards were designed to emphasize comfort and peace. Drawing inspiration from the founders' vision, the boards evoke a sense of coziness and warmth while incorporating a touch of elegance.

COLOR & TYPOGRAPHY
Incorporating Interior Textures into the Brand
The color palette was carefully chosen to evoke the warmth and familiarity of a well-loved home. Inspired by natural materials, it features soft browns reminiscent of wood and gentle yellows that mimic light spilling onto interior walls. The typography complements this warmth with a refined elegance, balancing professionalism with the inviting charm that defines the New Malva brand.

LOGO DESIGN
A Logo that Feels like Home
The design process for New Malva’s logo focused on reinforcing the company’s identity as a home styling business. Since the name itself doesn’t immediately convey the concept, the logo brings clarity and connection to the brand. The central graphic—a house outline—establishes the home-centric focus, while a sun symbolises the light and joy that New Malva brings to every space it transforms.

PAMPHLET DESIGN
Packaging the Business Pitch
To help New Malva reach potential clients through realtor offices, I designed eye-catching pamphlets that effectively communicate the brand's unique homestyling services. Starting with simple wireframe concepts, I refined the design through several high-resolution iterations, ensuring the final version was both visually compelling and informative. The result is a polished pamphlet that captures attention and introduces New Malva as the go-to solution for refreshing new homes.
